The 2009 Rockford Basket Press Shiraz is one of Australia's most iconic and collectible Shiraz wines, embodying the traditional Barossa Valley style that has made Rockford Wines a cult favourite among wine lovers worldwide. Produced using time-honoured winemaking techniques and sourced from a network of old-vine growers across the Barossa, Basket Press Shiraz has become a benchmark for rich, age-worthy Australian Shiraz.

Rockford founder Robert O'Callaghan established the winery with a commitment to preserving traditional Barossa winemaking practices. True to its name, Basket Press Shiraz is fermented in open vats and pressed using traditional basket presses before maturation in seasoned American and French oak, allowing the fruit and vineyard character to take centre stage.

The outstanding 2009 vintage delivered warm, dry conditions that produced fruit of exceptional concentration and depth. More than fifteen years later, the wine has evolved beautifully, developing the complexity and harmony that mature Barossa Shiraz is renowned for.

The bouquet reveals an enticing array of blackberry, black plum, blueberry, and dark cherry aromas, intertwined with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, baking spices, mocha, cedar, and roasted coffee bean. With extended bottle age, additional layers of leather, tobacco leaf, earth, and savoury game complexity emerge, adding remarkable depth and intrigue.

The palate is full-bodied, rich, and beautifully integrated. Generous dark fruit flavours are supported by silky tannins, balanced acidity, and exceptional persistence. The wine's trademark generosity is complemented by remarkable elegance and freshness, creating a seamless and harmonious drinking experience. Mature tertiary notes weave effortlessly through the fruit core, leading to a long, savoury finish.

Note that a signature is required to receive the parcel to all residential addresses and identification must be presented to receive the parcel to ensure the receiver is over the legal age.

RETURN POLICY

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn, unused, unopened, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at contact@sessionsarden.com.au. If it's returned because of a change of mind, you will be liable to pay for the return postage costs. When the item returns back to our store, we will then issue a full refund. If you require us to organize the pickup, we will refund the full amount less the return postage cost.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, or damaged or if you receive the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method.
